Description
Miles of footpath and some inspirational scenery make Durham’s Heritage Coastline ideal for walkers and cyclists. The Park itself is close to the Dene, famous in its hey day of the 30’s and enjoys a fantastic views along the coast.

On the Park enjoy a kick around on the all-weather sports court, splash around in the indoor swimming pool and Spa bath then enjoy a drink and a bite to eat in the Ocean Edge bar.

There is ample opportunity to go Fishing from the beautiful beach at Crimdon or Cycling along the Heritage Coastline. Castle Eden Dene the largest area of natural woodland in the NE of England has over 450 species of plants, the walkers dream.

The magnificent Cathedral City of Durham is a must for visitors to the Park. Accessible via car or the local bus route visitors can browse the shopping centres, take a leisurely walk along the river bank and through cobbled streets to the Castle and Cathedral which dominate the centre of the City.

Hartlepool Marina offers visitors the chance to visit the Historic Quay, take a tour of of the Trincomalee Sailing Ship, Britains oldest warship afloat, built in 1817. The Headland boasts St Hilda's Church, The Old Town Wall and the Battery built in the mid 1800's. It was a base for soildiers during WWI and WWII, Said to be haunted Monthly Ghost Watching Nights are held by the Heugh Battery Trust.

With the A19 and A1(M) situated nearby the whole North East of England is yours to explore.

Directions
From the A19 just south of Peterlee, take the B1281 turning signed to Blackhall, and drive through Castle Eden, turning left after about ½ mile signed towards Blackhall. After approx 3 miles turn right at T-junction onto A1086, towards Crimdon. After about 1 mile the park entrance is signposted on the left, beside the Seagull public house.
